RESUME : Dans son histoire, le rationalisme a pris des formes différentes depuis les discours mythico-religieux jusqu’à sa constitution et son enracinement dans les normes du discours empirique, au point de devenir la condition de validation de toute forme de connaissance. Le rationalisme devient ainsi constitué et s’impose à travers des critères et des lois. Le rationalisme constitué s’apparente à une approche exclusive pour l’explication et l’intelligence du monde à tel point que l’on se demande si l’approche scientifique et l’approche philosophique du monde s’excluent radicalement. Faut-il aujourd’hui réduire à néant toutes les formes de discours sur la réalité qui ne s’inscrivent pas directement dans l’axe du rationalisme scientifique triomphant ? L’enjeu épistémologique de ce débat récurrent est de savoir si toutes les formes du discours peuvent apporter encore aujourd’hui, à l’ère de la technoscience et de la sciençolatrie, une contribution au développement de la pensée ainsi que la compréhension du monde dans son ensemble.

ABSTRACT : In its history, rationalism has taken different forms from mythico-religious discourses to its constitution and its rooting in the norms of empirical discourse, to the point of becoming the condition of validation of any form of knowledge. Rationalism thus becomes constituted and imposes itself through criteria and laws. Rationalism is akin to an exclusive approach to the explanation and understanding of the world to such an extent that one wonders whether the scientific approach and the philosophical approach to the world radically exclude each other. Should we today reduce to nothing all forms of discourse on reality which do not fit directly into the axis of triumphant scientific rationalism? The epistemological issue of this recurring debate is to know whether all forms of discourse can still make a contribution to the development of thought as well as the understanding of the world as a whole today, in the era of technoscience and scientolatry.
