RESUME :
L’étude des noms propres de personnes ou anthroponymie constitue à l’heure actuelle un domaine attrayant des recherches en Centrafrique. Or nous savons que les anthroponymes, vu leur motivation, ont une portée socioculturelle très grande. L’anthroponyme africain est en général un signe complet avec un signifiant et un signifié. C’est pourquoi, même s’il se présente comme un pont sui generis entre la linguistique et l’anthropologie, il n’en demeure pas moins qu’il résume et décrit la vie ou l’histoire d’un clan, d’une famille ou d’un individu. L’anthroponymie permet de dégager quelques lignes de la pensée ancestrale, puisque les noms propres contiennent toute une conception, toute une philosophie, toute une histoire.
Cette étude ne vise pas l’onomastique dans son sens simple en tant que science des noms propres de personne et de lieu. Elle se limite cependant à l’anthroponymie c’est-à-dire à l’étude des noms propres de personne. Loin de prétendre réaliser un travail de linguistique, nous voudrions, à travers cet article apporter une contribution partielle à la reconstitution de l’histoire de la communauté ngbandi en particulier et de l’Afrique centrale en général.

ABSTRACT:
The study of personal names or anthroponomy is currently an untapped field in research in the Central African Republic. However, we know that anthroponymies, given their motivations, have a very wide socio-cultural significance. The African anthroponym is generally a complete sign with a signifier and a signified. This is why, even if it presents itself as a sui generis bridge between linguistics and anthropology, the fact remains that it summarizes and describes the life or the history of a clan, of a family or an individual. Anthroponymy makes it possible to identify a few lines of ancestral thought, since proper names contain a whole conception, a whole philosophy, a whole history.
This study does not aim at onomastics in its simple sense as the science of the proper names of people and places. However, it is limited to anthroponymy, that is to say the study of people’s proper names. Far from pretending to carry out a work of linguistics, we would like, through this article, to make a partial contribution to the reconstitution of the State of the NGBANDI community in particular and of Central Africa in general.
