Résumé : Malgré l’image négative du fonctionnaire et de la Fonction publique véhiculée dans la société centrafricaine au lendemain des Programmes d’Ajustement Structurels, celle-ci continue de faire des émules parmi les étudiants pourtant les mieux indiqués à s’en détourner. Est-ce à dire que la socialisation par la filière d’étude et le type d’établissement n’auraient aucun effet sur l’attitude des étudiants. Le but de l’étude est de questionner la pertinence du groupe social étudiant en tant qu’objet d’étude unifié présentant une certaine homogénéité de socialisation par la filière d’étude qui influencerait l’opinion et le choix des étudiants sur n’importe quel sujet. Il en ressort que les filières et leurs contenus n’ont pas d’influence significative sur le choix des étudiants, lorsqu’il s’agit d’un sujet qui ne fait pas appel aux compétences acquises dans leur filière respective.

Abstract: Despite the negative image of civil servants and the civil service conveyed in Central African society in the aftermath of the Structural Adjustment Programs, this image continues to be emulated among students, who are the most likely to turn away from it. Does this mean that socialization through the field of study and the type of institution has no effect on students’ attitudes? The aim of the study is to question the relevance of the student social group as a unified object of study, presenting a certain homogeneity of socialization through the field of study that would influence students’ opinions and choices on any subject. It emerges that fields of study and their content have no significant influence on students’ choices when it comes to a subject that does not call upon the skills acquired in their respective fields.
